Teachers are always looking for ways to get a quick meal on the table after a hard day at school, and the crock pot is one of the best ways to make that happen. I am always on the lookout for tasty crock pot meals that can quickly be thrown together in the morning. Here is a recipe I got from one of my best friends in the whole world and I don't think she would mind me sharing with you. It is a fast to put together and slow to cook crockpot version of Crawfish Bisque. With the days beginning to get a snap of chill in the air, this recipe is sure to warm you up and it tastes so good. I tweaked the original recipe a little and I have made some substitutes that are lower in fat and calories, but I will give you the full fat ingredients as well...just in case you are feeling frisky! So....here we go!
That's it! Throw everything in the crockpot and go to work. When you come home, you will have an amazing pot of yummy Crawfish Bisque! If you don't like onions or spicy food, leave out the onions or jalapeno. And, if you want a richer version, use regular cream cheese instead of the Greek yogurt cream cheese and 1 pint of whipping cream instead of the 2 cans of fat free condensed milk.
Here's the finished product. Doesn't it look amazing? I added a few drops of hot sauce. This bisque is good served by itself, or with rice and crusty french bread. If you try it, please let me know what you think.
